« Go Back

Information

TitleHow to increase poll timeout values for WASSP polls between the AP and the controller.
Objective
Prevent APs from detaching from the wireless controller during times of Network instability.
Environment
Identifi
Procedure
  1. Select AP at the top of the controller GUI, and select the AP(s) that are experiencing poll timeouts.
  2. Select configure
  3. Select advanced at the bottom. The poll timeout value to be adjusted is at the top.
Typically, as wireless deployments grow larger, denser, and clients increase, it is    advised to increase the AP Poll interval.  If AP Poll timeouts are seen, it is recommended to increase the Fast Failover time to 10 or 20, and the AP Poll timeout to a value of 20 to 30. This should buy time to rectify whatever wired issue is to blame for the poll timeouts.
