Objective
How to bypass captive portal for the selective devices connecting to the Guest WiFi?
Environment
  • XMC
  • NAC Manager
  • All version
Procedure
  • When NAC used for hosting captive portal this would be much more straight forward as you can define specific users to automatically authenticate and bypass the portal.
  • The clients would start off in a non authenticated role, the NAC would see that they are in a group to be allowed to bypass the portal and they would be provided the authenticated/registered role.
  • Create a new end-system group for those selective devices and add their MAC addresses.

  • Create a new rule and map the end-system group & the registration role to the rule. Using this the selective device will directly be getting the registration rule bypassing the CP.

  • Make sure the rule created sits above the system rules.
