Customer was not able to login to the switch via Console/Telnet/SSH by default password.
Obtain the MAC address of the impacted switch or base unit of the impacted stack. MAC address is located on a sticker on the unit or on a back copy of the show tech output.
Contact Extreme Support with the MAC address information so that an Extreme support engineer can generate a backdoor password.
Establish serial console access to the impacted switch or base unit of the impacted stack.
Cold boot the Standalone/stack.
After the boot sequence the Standalone/stack will present the Username and Password request screen.
Leave the Username field blank. A Username is not required to utilize a backdoor password. Do not hit ENTER to tab down from the Username field to Password field instead use the DOWN ARROW key to move the command prompt down from the Username field to Password field.
Enter the backdoor password in the password field and press ENTER to gain access to the CLI.
After obtaining CLI access, enter into Global configuration mode to create the user with ro/rw privilege with a new password and issue 'save config'.
