Information

TitleHow To Configure BGP Communities on S-Series
Objective
The config advertises a community to a BGP Neighbor. The sequence number in the route-map is used if multiple variables need to be advertised to a peer. Use the same route-map name with a different sequence number to write multiple rules to the route map.
Environment
S-Series
Procedure
1. Configure a route map specifying the community and AS number
route-map bgp [ROUTE_MAP_NAME] permit [SEQUENCE_NUMBER]
set community [COMMUNITY_STRING]:[AS_NNUMBER]} set-specific
exit

2. Advertise the community to the peer under the BGP router config
router bgp {Local_AS}
neighbor {NEIGHBOR_IP} remote-as {NEIGHBOR_AS}
neighbor [NEIGHBOR IP_ADDRESS] route-map [ROUTE_MAP_NAME] out
exit
