TitleHow To Load Share with Two EOS routers Using VRRP Fabric-mode
Objective
VRRP elects a master router which forwards packets sent to the Virtual IP (VIP) used by clients and the backup router does not forward these packets. This can cause traffic to cross through the backup router to the master, only to be sent back across the same link when the destination is on the backup router. This can be avoided by using fabric-mode routing to allow both routers to forward packets.
Environment
S-Series
Procedure
1.  Enter interface config mode (don't type the IP if one is configured)
interface vlan.0.3
ip address 10.0.3.3 255.255.255.0 primary

2. Create a VRRP ID
vrrp create 1 v2-IPv4
3. Create the virtual address that will be used by clients as a default gateway
vrrp address 1 10.0.3.1
4. Configure the backup to anser ARP sent to the VIP
vrrp fabric-route-mode 1
5. Start VRRP
vrrp enable 1
