Objective
How to configure the switch so that logging buffer messages can be seen after a reboot.
Environment
S-Series
Procedure
  • The logging buffer displayed in   CLI is cleared on every switch reset, however, the switch can be configured to save the messages in the current.log file
set logging local console enable file enable
  • This copies the  logging buffer messages to a current.log file on the logs directory of the switch

  • To copy the current.log off of the S series:
copy slot1/logs/current.log tftp://10.20.30.40/current.log
  •  To prevent the switch from copying errors in the logging buffer change  file to disable  and reset the switch
