Information

TitleHow to Configure Static IP Address Assignment in XSR DHCP Server
Objective
Configure a static IP address for any given client or node in XSR DHCP server
Environment
  • XSR
  • DHCP
  • Static IP adress assignment
Procedure
This procedure assumes you have already configured the DHCP address pool and server in the XSR.

XSR#config
XSR(config)#ip dhcp pool LAN1
XSR(config-dhcp-pool)#host 192.0.2..22/24
XSR(config-dhcp-host)#hardware-address 1234.5678.9abc
XSR(config-dhcp-host)#exit
XSR(config-dhcp-pool)#exit
XSR(config)#exit
XSR#
Additional notes
If the client or host is already connected and has, or any other host has, the IP address you wish to assign as a static address you will need to clear this from the DHCP bindings first.  It is recommended that you disconnect the host first, then clear the binding, configure the static assignment, then reconnect or reboot the client or host.

To clear a DHCP address binding:

XSR# clear ip dhcp binding 192.0.2.24
XSR#
