Objective
The objective of this document is to show how to manually configure IP parameter on an AP via CLI interface.
Environment
  • Extreme Wireless (formerly known as IdentiFi)
  • All Wireless Access Points
  • All firmware versions
Procedure
  1. Typically best practice is to set the static IP via the Controller Web GUI - How to assign a static IP address to an IdentiFi Access Point over the EWC WebGui
  2. SSH to the AP with your preferred SSH client (example: Putty)
  3. Default Log in: admin/new2day
cset ipaddr <ip address>
cset ipmask <255.255.255.255>
cset gateway <ip address>
cset authIpAddr 1 <ip of controller#1>
cset authIpAddr 2 <ip of controller#2 if applicable>
cset vlanvid x <mgmt vlan tag optional>
cset dhcp disable 
capply 
csave 
(Wait until the prompt comes back)
reboot

Example:
cset ipaddr 10.1.1.1
cset ipmask 255.255.0.0
cset gateway 10.1.254.254
cset authipaddr 1 10.1.1.2
cset vlanvid 10 (optional)
cset dhcp disable 
capply 
csave
(Wait until the prompt comes back)
reboot
