Change from native stacking using a SummitStack Module to Alternate stacking using a XGM3-2sf on a X460
Environment
  • Summit X460
  • EXOS
Procedure
This procedure is based on a two node stack with a master and backup.
  • From the master type in the following command:
    • configure stacking-support stack-ports all selection alternate
  • From the backup type in the same command:
    • telnet slot 2
    • configure stacking-support stack-ports all selection alternate
  • Unplug the power from both switches.
  • If the XGM3-2sf module is not already installed install.
  • Unplug original native stacking cables.
  • Plug-in alternate stacking cables in a crossing fashion (S1 to S2 and S2 to S1)
  • Plug-in the power to both switches.
  • Check the stack from the master.
