Procedure

    • Download the tool from the ezcloudx.com homepage:

  • Customers wanted One-click tool that will allow the admin to validate their environment for ExtremeCloud before they deploy devices.
  • If this tool finds a problem and outputs it, then that needs to be addressed (Check Firewall, Content Filter, ACL's, Ect...)
  • This software is distributed with different executables for different platforms(Linux, Mac, and Windows)
  • By nature, network services are quite complex, so please test, test, test!
  • How to use the tool:
    • Run the pre-requisites tool from the ezcloudx homepage on a machine that is in the same subnet of your cloud device to confirm all links are accessible.
      •  Extracting binaries
        •   #Windows:
          • select ezlcloud_prerequisite_validation_tool.zip and unzip using WinZip with option "Extract to here".
          • Contents will be extracted under folder "ezlcloud_prerequisite_validation_tool". Folder contains validation tool binary(prerequisite-checker) in corresponding operating system specific folder.
        •   #Mac:
          •  unzip ezlcloud_prerequisite_validation_tool.zip 
        •  #Linux:
          • unzip ezlcloud_prerequisite_validation_tool.zip
  • Usage (command line)
    • # Linux
      •  cd linux
      •  sudo ./prerequisite-checker
    • # Mac
      • cd linux
      • sudo ./prerequisite-checker
    •  # Windows
      • cd win
      • ./prerequisite-checker.exe 
  • When multiple interfaces are present
    •     This tool should run from the same subnet that the APs are deployed on. Thus select the interface, which this tool should use to validate ezcloud prerequisites and pass its mac address as an argument.
      • ./prerequisite-checker xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
