Overview of findings:
- Router mode command "no ip routing" will not allow DHCP to work.
-If statically setting a client-identifier to a host IP address in a pool, you can not use an IP address that is
currently part of a "set dhcp exclude <low ip> <high ip>" statement.
-When configuring client-identifier, you need to add a "01:" before the mac address to specify ethernet.
-When configuring Static DHCP reservations, they must be on a separate pool
(cannot be configured on same pool giving out addresses with the "network" statement)
-You can have a total of 16 address pools (dynamic / static) on C2
-Switch is limited to total of 256 leases at a given time.
-You can only configure 1 ip-to-mac binding for each pool
-once IP is binded to mac in a specific pool, DHCP knows not to give out that address.
So, if you have a binding on a pool, or if you have a "set dhcp exclude <ip-addr>" command,
dhcp will not lease this IP to any users.
The DHCP options are limited on the C2 and are meant for light configuration.
If you have a large network, it would be advisable to use windows server DHCP or there are open-source
DHCP programs available on the web.How to configure DHCP on the S-K-7100
