Objective
Configure Mac-based Netlogin using the local database.
Environment
  • EXOS
  • Summit
  • BlackDiamond
Procedure
Type the following commands:
  • configure netlogin vlan <netlogin_vlan>
  • enable netlogin mac
  • configure netlogin mac authentication database-order local
  • configure netlogin add mac-list <mac_address> 48 ports <port_number>
Note: You may see a warning message at this point that the port does not have Netlogin enabled.
  • enable netlogin ports <port_number> mac
  • configure netlogin ports <port_number> mode port-based-vlans
  • create netlogin local-user <mac_address_no_delimiters> vlan-vsa <destination_vlan>
Note: You will be prompted for the account password. EXOS uses the MAC address in all caps with no delimiters.
