Objective
How to create a captive portal configuration with Facebook registration on Extreme Cloud Appliance.  This includes both the XCA configuration elements as well as the steps necessary to enable it on Facebook as well.
Environment
  • Extreme Cloud Appliance 4.26.02
  • Facebook.com
Procedure
Prerequisites
•    XCA
•    Access Point
•    Working Guest Registration Portal

Registering a Facebook Application
1.    Go to https://developers.facebook.com
2.    My Apps -> Add New App
3.    Provide a name and email address
4.    Bypass robot check
5.    Settings -> Basic.
6.    Record App ID and App Secret
7.    Update “Privacy Policy URL”
8.    Update Category
9.    Save Changes
10.    Add Product, Facebook Login, Other, Other
11.    Update “Valid OAuth Redirect URIs” with the redir url, such as https://172.16.102.2/fb_oauth where 172.16.102.2 is the IP of the L3 interface on the topology that supports the captive portal.
12.    Change Status to “On”

Adding Facebook Registration
1.    Onboard -> Portal -> Edit portal to add Facebook login to
2.    Manage
3.    Click the Facebook Registration option
4.    Input App ID and Secret from #6 above.
5.    Save
6.    Networks -> Click Captive Portal Network -> Configure Network
7.    Walled Garden Rules
a.    Allow FQDN to facebook.com, port HTTPS
b.    Allow FQDN to fbcdn.net, port HTTPS
8.    Save
