The following syntax is used to create a LAG with LACP and other settings such as algorithm:
  • enable sharing port grouping port_list { algorithm [ address-based { L2 | L3 | L3_L4 | custom} | port-based }]} { lacp | health-check}
  • EXOS does not use a "channel-group" for LAG's.  The port in the command "enable sharing <port>" is the port used for making configuration changes of the LAG.
  • This will create a shared group / LAG with a master port and subsequent member ports that are listed in the port list (master must still be included).
  • All ports in a sharing group need to have the same speed.
Choose the algorithm according to the network traffic
  • L2 algorithm—Layer 2 source and destination MAC addresses. (Available on BlackDiamond 8800 series switches, SummitStack, and all Summit family switches).
  • L3 algorithm—Layer 3 source and destination IP addresses. (Available on BlackDiamond 8800 series switches, Summit family switches, and SummitStack).  
  • L3_L4 algorithm—Layer 3 and Layer 4, the combined source and destination IP addresses and source and destination TCP and UDP port numbers. (Available on Summit family switches, BlackDiamond 8000 a-, c-, and e-series modules and BlackDiamond 8500 series modules).
The following syntax is used to delete a LAG group or a list of ports from a LAG:
  • disable sharing <port>
  • configure sharing <port> delete ports <port_list>
Additional notes
Below is an example of creating a LAG where port 20 is the master/configuration port, and 21-25 are member ports.

Switch.3 # enable sharing 20 grouping 20-25 algorithm address-based L2
Warning: Any config on the master port is lost (IGMP Filter, IGMP Static Group, MAC-Security, CFM, TRILL etc.)

Custom Algorithm Configuration: ipv4 L3-and-L4, xor
Distribution Mode Flags:
        A - All: Distribute to all members
        L - Local Slot: Distribute to members local to ingress slot
        P - Port Lists: Distribute to per-slot configurable subset of members
Number of load sharing trunks: 1
