TitleHow to customize the adoption information view on WiNG CLI
  • Customize the view for APs adoption on WiNG software, to report which device it is connected each AP, for example. This should give more information about the network topology.
  • This can be also done to remove columns as well and show only the columns you are interested in.
  • This is only valid for the following two adoption commands;
#customize show-adoption-?
show-adoption-offline Customize the output of (show adoption offline)
show-adoption-status Customize the output of (show adoption status)

  • All Summit WM3000 Series Controllers
  • ExtremeWiNG Controllers
  • WirelessWiNG Controllers
  • ExtremeWiNG Access Points
  • WirelessWiNG Acess Points
  • WiNG v5.X Software
By default you will see the following output when executing the following command:
>en [enter]
# show adoption status [enter]
User-added image

You can modify this output by performing the following changes on the configuration:
# conf t [enter]
# customize show-adoption-status ap-name version config-status msgs adopted-by last-adoption uptime cdp-lldp-info [enter]
# comm wr [enter]
If you check the adoption status, this is adding a new column, where you will see the device where the device is connected:
