Information

TitleHow to reset cluster configuration settings on a WiNG controller from CLI
Objective
To revert non-working cluster settings on WiNG members back to factory defaults so that clustering may be reconfigured.

This method can be used in case the controller cannot be completely reset back to factory defaults.
Environment
  • RFS 4000/6000/7000
  • NX 5500/6500/7500/9500/9600
  • VX9000
  • WiNG 5.x
Procedure
Prerequisites:
  • SSH (Secure Shell) client such as Putty.exe or console port access using a console cable (baud rates: 19200 or 115200)
Instructions:
  1. Log into the controller via CLI using SSH or console port
  2. Check what cluster settings are already configured on your controller:
>en
#self
#show context include-factory | include cluster
cluster name lab_cluster
cluster mode active
cluster member ip 192.168.2.137
cluster master-priority 255
cluster force-configured-state
cluster force-configured-state-delay 5
  1. Depending on the results in step one, only use the appropriate commands listed below to default (remove) the settings:
>en
#self
#remove-override cluster force-configured-state
#remove-override cluster force-configured-state-delay
#remove-override cluster handle-stp
#remove-override cluster master-priority
#remove-override cluster member ip
#remove-override cluster member vlan
#remove-override cluster mode
#remove-override cluster name
#com wr
[OK]
#show context include-factory | include cluster
#
This method is preferred over using the "no" command.
