Objective
How to delete the active DHCP leases off the IdentiFi Controller when the controller is setup as a DHCP Server.
Environment
  • IdentFi Wireless
  • All Firmware
  • DHCP Server
  • DHCP Leases 
Procedure
Extreme Networks recommends that you contact GTAC for any problems with DHCP on your controller, or if have questions about the steps below. 

To remove the DHCP leases, they must be deleted from the file dhcpd.leases file. Note:  Do NOT delete the file itself. Leave the commented text at the top of the file intact.
  1. SSH to the controller
  2. Enter in the admin/password
  3. Type the command: shell
  4. Enter in the admin password again
  5. Type vi /var/dhcp/dhcpd.leases
  6. Navigate to the first lease and enter the command 9999dd        #this will delete up to 9999 lines text in the file
  7. Type :w
  8. Type :q
  9. To restart dhcp server enter the command /etc/init.d/dhcp restart
  10. Exit the shell by typing "exit"
