Procedure
Following is example topology.

Basic configuration is same with when you are configuring normal MLAG between switches.
In identiFi controller side,
  • Configure esa0 and esa1 physical ports as lag logical port
  • identiFi controller supports only static LAG

In EXOS MLAG switch#1 side (for example),

create vlan "ISC" tag <VLAN-ID>
create vlan <Data VLAN> tag <VLAN-ID>
enable sharing 3:1 grouping 3:1, 4:1 {algorithm [address-based {L2 | L3 | L3_L4 | custom} | port-based }]}
configure vlan <Data VLAN> add port 1:1-2, 2:1-2 [untagged | tagged]
configure vlan "ISC" add port 3:1 tagged
configure vlan ISC ipaddress 1.1.1.1/30
create mlag peer "core2"
configure mlag peer "core2" ipaddress 1.1.1.2 vr VR-Default
enable mlag port 1:1 peer "core2" id 1
enable mlag port 1:2 peer "core2" id 2
enable mlag port 2:1 peer "core2" id 3
enable mlag port 2:2 peer "core2" id 4


In EXOS MLAG switch#2 side,

create vlan "ISC" tag <VLAN-ID>
create vlan <Data VLAN> tag <VLAN-ID>
enable sharing 3:1 grouping 3:1, 4:1 {algorithm [address-based {L2 | L3 | L3_L4 | custom} | port-based }]}
configure vlan <Data VLAN> add port 1:1-2, 2:1-2 [untagged | tagged]
configure vlan "ISC" add port 3:1 tagged
configure vlan ISC ipaddress 1.1.1.2/30
create mlag peer "core1"
configure mlag peer "core1" ipaddress 1.1.1.1 vr VR-Default
enable mlag port 1:1 peer "core1" id 1
enable mlag port 1:2 peer "core1" id 2
enable mlag port 2:1 peer "core1" id 3
enable mlag port 2:2 peer "core1" id 4


In Access switch#2 side,

create vlan <Data VLAN> tag <VLAN-ID>
enable sharing 5:4 grouping 5:4-5 {algorithm [address-based {L2 | L3 | L3_L4 | custom} | port-based }]}
configure vlan <Data VLAN> add port 5:4 [untagged | tagged]


And would recommend to add following configuration for this case (LAG from identiFi + MLAG from EXOS):
In identiFi wireless controller side:
  • Enable "Fast Failover" with "Detect link failure in 10 sec
In AP side:
  • AP polling timeout : 15 sec (1.5 ~ 2 times of "Detect link failure" time)
MLAG switch side:
  • configure mlag ports convergence-control fast
Above identiFi and AP configuration are recommended configuration for High availability with FF (Fast Failover) in wireless side and above EXOS configuration is recommended for better convergence time when the path b/w controller and AP is changed.
