Information

TitleHow to disable CLI paging in the 200 Series
Objective

When capturing command output that has many pages of data (e.g. 'show tech-support'), it can be helpful to disable CLI paging ('more' prompt after dumping a limited number of lines of output to the terminal).

Environment
  • 200 Series
Procedure
In order to change paging size, the user must be in Privileged EXEC (enable) mode:

enable
terminal length 0

Additional notes
The default terminal length is 24 lines.  A 0 value for terminal length disables any CLI paging (eliminates the 'more' prompt) and writes all command output continuously.  The configurable range for printable lines before CLI paging is 5-48 for the 200 Series.
