Objective
Disable SSH login for root access on NetSight
Environment
Ubuntu NetSight/NAC/Purview platform
Procedure
  1. SSH into the the appliance
  2. Change directory into /etc/ssh
  3. Edit the sshd_config file
  4. Change the line from:
    PermitRootLogin yes

    to
    PermitRootLogin no

  5. Restart the SSH service:
    service ssh restart
  6. Make sure to create another user as if root is the only user and SSH is disabled you will lose all remote access.
