TitleHow to enable/disable inline-power (PoE) in EXOS
Objective
How to enable/disable inline-power (PoE) in EXOS
Environment
  • EXOS
  • Summit
  • BlackDiamond
Procedure
Inline-power is enabled by default in EXOS on PoE-capable switches. It can be disabled globally, per slot, or per port. The respective commands are:
  • disable inline-power
  • disable inline-power slot <slot>
  • disable inline-power ports <port>
If inline-power has previously been disabled, it can be re-enabled be running the same commands but with the keyword "enable", e.g. enable inline-power.
Additional notes
The switch must be PoE-capable to enable inline power. For the Summit line, this is generally denoted by a "p" at the end of the product name, e.g. Summit X440-48p.
