Procedure
Use netInstall to load the code on the linecard.
  1. telnet/ssh to MM
  2. Run start-shell to enter linux shell to disable autorecovery (LC reboot)
    # start-shell
     Entering Linux shell for the user: admin

  3. Run "slotdiagon lcX" (where X is lincard number) to put the linecard  in diag mode.
    [admin@SLX]# slotdiagon lc4
    
     Transitioning L4 into diag mode
  4. Run "install.lc X" to netinstall linecard in slot X - you will see message that LCX Netinstall started. This process will take about 10 mins.
    [admin@SLX]# install.lc
     /fabos/link_bin/install.lc : Invalid number of arguments.
     Usage : /fabos/link_bin/install.lc <slot number> <option>
     slot
    
     - F4 slot number range is 1-4
     - F8 slot number range is 1-8
     option
     - -f for Full Installation
     [admin@SLX]# install.lc 4
    
     ################ InfoPrint: 2018-05-20 07:13:47 ################
    
    
     LC4 Install starts from MM1
    …
    -Snipped-
    …
    
    [admin@SLX]#
     LC4: StartLCNetInstall: Fusion install complete.
     Install start time is 2018-05-20 07:13:47
     Install end time is 2018-05-20 07:23:55
    
     Install Completed for LC4.
    
     [admin@SLX]# exit
    
  5. Then, enter "exit" to return to SLX-OS CLI
  6. Next, power-on linecard 4
    SLX# power-on linecard X
  7. Run  “show slot” and “show ver” upon install completion to verify the code
Additional notes
  • The install.lc script requires the use of the global Telnet server.  If you see the following message after running "install.lc x", validate that the telnet server is not shutdown

telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
  • The install.lc script also requires to be able to login with the default admin/password credentials.  If  the following messages are seen and tacacs+ is configured, ensure that default local is configured. Run 'show run aaa' to confirm.

spawn telnet 127.0.0.1 23

Connected to 127.0.0.1.

SLX login: admin
