Procedure

1. To clear the admin password back to defaults Toggle Switch #8 on the module must be moved to the opposite position
2. Put on the ESD wrist strap and attach it to ground. 
3. Power down the Fabric Module and remove from chassis
4. Locate the switch bank of 8 toggle switches.  ( see picture below ) 
5. Toggle switch #8 to the opposite position
6. Place card back into the chassis and power up
7. Once the card boots up the admin password should be at the default.
8. Switch #8 does not need to be moved back to the original position.

Additional notes
Switch definitions and positions are as follows:
• Switches # 1–6: For Extreme Networks use only.
• Switch #7: Clear Persistent Data. Changing the position of this switch clears Persistent Data on
the next power-up of the module. All user-entered parameters, such as the IP address, system
name, and so on, are reset to the factory default settings. Once the system resets, you can
either use the factory default settings or reenter your own parameters.

• Switch # 8: Clear Admin Password. Changing the position of this switch clears the admin
password, and restores the factory default password on the next power-up of the system.
Once the module resets, you can either use the factory default settings or reenter your own
password.
