Information

TitleHow to set up Radius Authentication for logging into XCA
Objective
How to set up Radius Authentication for logging into the (XCA) Extreme Cloud Appliance.
Environment
  • XCA
  • ExtremeCloud Appliance
  • Login Management
  • Radius authentication
Procedure
In the XCA GUI select Administration and then Accounts under that. Select the Radius heading in the middle of the screen. Click the ADD button from the Authentication Order section and add Radius. Leave the order as 1 Local and 2 being Radius until you know it works. Make sure that your Radius Servers section below is populated with your radius server information. Select the TEST button on the right side of the page and make sure your TEST completes successfully. Leave the order Local 1st and Radius second and attempt to actually log in with your active directory user name and password. If this fails you need to make sure your Remote Access Policy is returning the required Service-Type of Administrative. Also don't forget you need to have an Pass Through External Radius Rule configured under OnBoard,Rules to allow the XCA to accept the Radius Attributes coming the the External authentication server.
