TitleHow to Configure a floating default static route on EXOS switch
Objective
How Can I Create a Floating Static Route that will not take precedence unless my OSPF route is lost?
The default administrative distance for OSPF is 110, and 1 for a static route.  If a static route is added with a preference of higher than 110, it will nnot be installed in the routing table unless the matching OSPF route is removed.
Environment
  • Black Diamond 8810
  • Summit: All
  • EXOS: All
Procedure
Use the following command:
  1. configure iproute priority static <priority> [111-65534]
  2. Type save to save configuration
  3. Type yes to confirm saving
  4. Type reboot
  5. Type yes to confirm reboot
Additional notes
It is suggested that you should be expertly familiar with the possible consequences prior to changing the route priority.
