TitleCan ASIC errors on one VDX cause CRC errors on a remote fabric?
Question
Can ASIC errors on one VDX cause CRC errors on a remote device?
Environment
  • VDX
  • NOS
Answer
ASIC errors generated by a VDX in a fabric will cause CRC errors. Due to the cut through method of packet transmission CRC errors are fowarded and so any device downstream will receive these bad packets, even if a separate VDX or fabric sits inline as CRC errors are not dropped by a VDX.
