Question
  • Why does the output of show logging auditlog flood the screen where show logging raslog uses the page function?
Environment
  • SLXOS
  • All SLX platforms
Answer
The command show logging auditlog is defaulted to output the entire file.
Command Reference Guide suggests using "|more" for paged output.

The command show logging raslog was previously defaulted to output the entire file.
Command Reference Guide suggests using "|more" for paged output, however this behavior has changed in SLXOS to a paged mode for ease of reviewing the log entries.

The need becomes necessary as the frequency of checking raslog for events and warning messages.
Auditlog review is less frequent and does not has the display mode changed.

This is not a defect and the device is working as designed.
