Question
What does the message "Multicast packet send to 224.0.0.13 (size 46) fail with error Network is unreachable (128)" mean?
Environment
EXOS 22.x or above
Answer
This message simply means the switch is unable to send PIM to a particular VLAN due to the VLAN is down. When ALL member ports of a particular VLAN were down, the VLAN interface will be down and if PIM was enabled on that VLAN, the message will be seen telling the end user that PIM is not able to send out due to network unreachability.
