TitleWhat happens to XCA / XCC login management when Radius server(s) are unavailable?
Question
  • What happens to XCA / XCC login management when Radius server(s) are unavailable?
  • What happens to XCA / XCC login management when Radius server(s) are offline?
  • What happens to XCA / XCC login management when Radius server(s) do not respond?
Environment
  • ExtremeCloud Appliance (XCA) / ExtremeContainer Controller (XCC)
  • All firmware
Answer
  • With only 1 Radius server, if the Radius server becomes unavailable (timeout), XCA/XCC will then attempt the local database.
  • With more than 1 Radius server, if a Radius server(s) becomes unavailable (timeout), it will try the next Radius server(s) as configured and if they all timeout, XCA/XCC will then attempt the local database.
  • If the Radius server sends a Radius Reject, then the login attempt is stopped and the local database is not tried.
