TitleCan IdentiFi Wireless Regulatory Domain and AP upgrade licenses be moved to a newly purchased Wireless Controller?
Question
Can IdentiFi Wireless Regulatory Domain and AP upgrade licenses be moved to a newly purchased Wireless Controller?
Environment
  • IdentiFi Wireless
  • Software version 08.xx, 09.xx, and 10.xx
  • License migration
Answer
  • Regulatory Domain license keys are hardware specific and node-locked to the original controller they were purchased for (or upon rehosting, to a RMA-replacement controller); A new Regulatory Domain license is required for new controller purchases
  • AP Upgrade licenses can be shared between a HA pair of controllers (as of version 09.xx code), but typically cannot be migrated to different hardware platforms due to the specific hardware types they are tied to:
WS-APCAP-1 : Increases capacity by one AP; for C25, C35, and V2110. Requires f/w 8.21+.
WS-APCAP-16 : Increases capacity by 16 APs; for C25, C35, and V2110.
WS-C20XCAPUP16 : Increases capacity by 16 APs; for C20, C20N, C25, and V2110.
WS-APCAP-25 : Increases capacity by 25 APs; for C5210.
WS-CTLCAPUP25 : Increases capacity by 25 APs; for C2400, C4110, and C5110.
WS-APCAP-100 : Increases capacity by 100 APs; for C5210.
