Answer
How can I configure multiple Access Points (AP's) at once on the ExtremeWireless controller?
You can configure multiple AP's in the AP > Bulk Configuration > AP Multi-edit Settings screen.

Why am I not able to configure my AP's through the Multi-Edit function on the ExtremeWireless controller?
If you have different model Access Points deployed you will only be able to configure them at the same time if they have the exact same supported configuration options and compliance settings.  More than likely, you will only be able to configure the same models at once.

This can be done by selecting the model in the Hardware Type window in the top left of the screen.  You can also highlight the AP's individually in the Wireless AP's screen or highlight them in bulk with "Shift + Left Mouse click"

Why are some radio setting options greyed out in Multi-Edit?
Certain settings are based on other settings being enabled. In most cases, if you set the Admin Mode drop down to "On" and choose a Radio Mode (a, a/n, g, g/n, etc) this will allow you to set other configuration options.
  • UPDATE: With firmware version 9.21.xx and higher, you do not need to enable the Admin Mode for the radios, only the Radio Mode to get to the Advanced Features lower in the Multi-Edit list.

How can I configure a channel plan for my AP's all at once in Multi-Edit?
In order to be able to select the Custom channel plan, and then the "Configure" option, you must first enable the Admin Mode of the radio(s) and then select a setting for Radio Modes.
This will populate Custom in the Channel Plan drop down. You must also select a Country in the drop down in the top section. This will enable the "Configure" button in Multi-edit.
  • UPDATE: With firmware version 9.21.xx and higher, you do not need to enable the Admin Mode for the radios, only the Radio Mode to get to the Advanced Features lower in the Multi-Edit list.
