Question
How can I prevent my series 200 switch from accessing ExtremeCloud?
Environment
  • E200 series switches
  • Firmware: 1.2.3.5, 1.2.4.7
  • ExtremeCloud
Answer
These steps will prevent the switch from accessing ExtremeCloud:
  1. Make sure that the switch has no access to the Internet
  2. Reset the switch back to factory defaults (if it has already attempted to access the cloud and loaded the config) - How to Clear the Configuration on a 200 Series Switch Using Telnet/SSH or by Interrupting the Boot with Console
  3. Either load an existing startup-config file or configure anew
  4. Disable cloud access: Telnet into the switch and run the following commands:
    1. Prevent the switch from connecting to the ExtremeCloud:
#show application (you should see a file called connector.pyz which is responsible for cloud connection)
#application stop connector.pyz
#write memory
  1. Stop the file from running again on reboot:
>en
#configure
#no application install connector.pyz
#write mem
