TitleHow do I view log files in CLI for WiNG devices?
Question
How do I view a log file in CLI for WiNG APs and controllers?
Environment
  • WiNG 5.x
  • RFS series WiNG controllers
  • NX series WiNG controllers
  • VX series WiNG controllers
  • WiNG APs (non legacy)
Answer
Please follow these steps to view log files directly from CLI without the need to download them first:
  1. SSH (Secure Shell) or console (baud rate 19200 or 115200) into the equipment using Putty.exe or similar client
  2. Run the follow commands:
>en
#cd <directory name>
#dir
#more <filename>

Alternatively if you already know the name and location of the file/s in question you may run the command without changing directory:
>en
#more <directory:/subdirectory/filename>

Example:
>en
#cd flash:/log/
#dir
Directory of flash:/log/.
