TitleHow is traffic handled for distribution on the Extreme Wireless Appliances Link Aggregation(LAG) ports?
Question
How is traffic handle for distribution on the Extreme Wireless Appliances Link Aggregation(LAG) ports.
Environment
  • IdentiFi
  • All Hardware Wireless Appliances
  • All Firmware
  • LAG
  • LACP
Answer
  1. The traffic is distributed based on source ip and destination ip pair hash.
  2. All traffic has the same source ip and destination ip would guaranteed to be sent out on same physical port. The packet order is guaranteed among same ip pair, same thing for same flow stream.
  3. The physical port for receiving traffic distribution depends on the sender from other end. We can handle any combination.
  4. Appliance side, we only support static LAG, dynamic negotiation based on the LACP protocol is not supported.
