TitleIs DHCP service required for adoption of Wing APs to Extreme Cloud Appliance (XCA)?
Question
Is DHCP service required for adoption of Wing APs to Extreme Cloud Appliance (XCA) for distributed Site deployments?
Environment
  • Extreme Cloud Appliance (XCA)
  • Extreme Wireless Wing
  • Extreme Cloud
Answer
Yes, Wing Access Points must be able to acquire DHCP IP and default gateway address from an available DHCP server on native vlan in order to reach to Extreme Cloud Appliance (XCA). Any static IP or gateway configuration on access points would be lost once it adopts to XCA. Currently, it is not possible to set static IP address and default gateway for adopted Access Points from XCA.
