TitleReported WLAN Attributes (ESSID, PROFILENAME and VERSION) are missing in the MSP Device detail page
Question
Why is "userAttribute.wlan.essid" not being reported in MSP?
Why is "userAttribute.wlan.profilename" not being reported in MSP?
Why is "userAttribute.wlan.version" not being reported in MSP?

Facts:

The Wlan attributes (userAttribute.wlan.profilename, userAttribute.wlan.essid and userAttribute.wlan.version) were added to GetAdapters in v2.5 created in August 2010. GetAdapters v2.5 was included in the MSP v3.3.1 release.
Environment
  • GetAdapters in v2.5
  • MSP v3.3.1
  • Zebra
Answer
When viewing the device attributes in MSP the attributes for "userAttribute.wlan.profilename", "userAttribute.wlan.essid" and "userAttribute.wlan.version" are either not there or show a value of "Unspecified"

These 3 user attributes are created by the GetAdapters Control Module and will only be reported by devices that have GetAdapters installed.

Note
The "userAttribute.wlan" values are only reported on devices with a connected Wlan adapter.
For MPA3 devices (MC92N0, VC70N0 and WT41N0) GetAdapters v2.72 or higher needs to be used for these attributes to be reported back to MSP.
