Why are VX9000 licenses no longer valid after changing management IP address?

Answer
License strings for VX9000 are calculated based on Serial Number of VX9000. The management IP address plays a part in serial number for VX9000 and any change in IP address may result in a different Serial Number invalidating existing license strings. Serial number can be found using "How to get the serial number of a Summit WM3000 series wireless controller".
Additional notes
We recommend using a static IP address or static DHCP binding for setting the management IP address of VX9000. Please contact GTAC if your existing VX9000 licenses are no longer valid after change in IP address / serial number. Use the below link for information on how to reach us:
