There is no physical difference between BR-MLX-10GX10-X2, BR-MLX-10GX20-X2, and BR-MLX-10GX20-M modules. They differ only in the software licenses installed at the factory and by users.
The physical base module with no software licenses installed is a BR-MLX-10GX20-M. A BR-MLX-10GX20-X2 is a physical BR-MLX-10GX20-M with an extended routing table software license. A BR-MLX-10GX10-X2 is a physical BR-MLX-10GX20-M module that had a 10x10G-X2-MODE software license installed at the factory. The 10x10G-X2-MODE license provides -X2 extended route table functionality, limits use to ten interfaces, and cannot be intentionally deleted. An additional BR-MLX-10GX10-20PUPG software license is required to upgrade a BR-MLX-10GX10-X2 to a BR-MLX-10GX20-X2.
The NetIron CLI provides no commands for deleting licenses. Theoretically, if a license is accidentally deleted, there is no CLI command that will display what licenses used to be on a module. If you are concerned that a NetIron line card module might have lost licenses or want to double check its part number, please refer to asset and license information available to you in Extreme Portal or contact Extreme Support.
