TitleWhat is the Difference between K-Series Power Supply models K-AC-PS-1400W and K-AC-PS?
Question
What is the difference between the K-AC-PS-1400W and the K-AC-PS?
Environment
K-Series
K-AC-PS-1400W
K-AC-PS
Answer
The originally-released model K-AC-PS-1400W has a constant-speed (around 14000 RPM) fan, and the unit's serial number cannot be SNMP-queried.
The later-developed K-AC-PS has a variable-rate fan (though normally around 8000 RPM), and the unit's serial number is available via SNMP query.
Both are 1400-Watt load-sharing redundant AC power supplies, up to four of which - in any combination - may be installed in a K6-CHASSIS or K10-CHASSIS.

All of this is FAD (Functions as Designed).
