TitleWhat are the different operational states of the IdentiFi AP dual LAN Ports?
Question
What are the different operational states of the IdentiFi dual LAN Ports?
Environment
  • IdentiFi Wireless
  • AP3825
  • AP3805
  • AP3865
  • AP3935
  • AP3965
Answer
  1. If only 1 port is connected it will be active for both POE and data.
  2. If both ports are connected, the first port to come up will be the active port for both POE and data. The second port will be in passive standby in the event the first port fails.
  3. For both ports to be active LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) must be enabled. LACP is configured in the AP static configuration menu. In this case the first port to come up will be active for POE, both ports will be active for data.
  4. Note: AP3825 cannot be powered when connecting both LAN ports on the same PoE switch.
Additional notes
When both ports are connected LAN1 and LAN2 LED's will show active link on the switch they are connected to.

When configured for LACP, port 1 will transmit data received on radio 1, and port 2 will transmit data received on radio 2.
