What is the purpose of mobility manager?
Environment
  • IdentiFi Wireless

  • Wireless Controller > Services > Mobility Manager
Answer
  • Distribute client sessions to mobility agents across the mobility domain
  • Distribute is performed in the Control tunnel
  • The distributed client sessions are kept in the mobility Manager's table and distributed amongst mobility agents
  • If the client's home session is not in the local controller, a foreign session is created and all the data traffic is backhauled to the home controller for tunneled topologies.
  • If the clients sessions is unknown in the domain a new home session in created and then distributed to controllers across the mobility domain.
