TitleWhich port does ELRP disable
Question
When using ELRP to disable a port, is the ingress or egress port disabled?
Environment
  • EXOS
  • Summit
  • BlackDiamond
Answer
The default behavior of ELRP is to disable the port where the looped packet arrives (ingress). If disabling a particular port is not desired, it should be added to the exclude list.

Starting in EXOS 16.1, it can be configured to disable the egress port instead with the command below:

configure elrp-client periodic <vlan> ports <{portlist} | all> {interval <seconds>} [log |log-and-trap | trap] disable-port egress  {duration {<seconds>} | permanent }
