Question
Servers lost connectivity to VDX pair all of sudden and VDX lost its running configuration causing an outage.

The Supportsave shows events which may have resulted in the config going to default.

-2016/08/12-06:46:19, [HASM-1004], 17025, INFO, VDX6740, Processor reloaded - Reset.
-Dcmd Database is corrupted. Hence, clearing the database.
-2016/08/12-06:51:07, [DCM-3053], 17050, SW/0 | Active, INFO, VDX6740, Dcmd database corruption was detected. The system will startup with the default configuration for this database.

These are possible causes that could be contributing to this issue

The postgres shutdown doesnt happen gracefully and DB gets corrupted. Mainly, sudden power cycle the switch may cause DB corruption due to power outage, but it is a rare case. For example if firmware download is going on and we do a power cycle or when there is any DB related activity going on and we remove the power cable.
In this case database system was not properly shut down; automatic recovery in progress and database system was interrupted in the trace files.
