Symptoms
  • The configuration backup / archive of an ERS 4500, 5500 or 5600-series switch fails.
  • The configuration backup / scheduled archive may inadvertently result in loss of configuration of the ERS switch.

Cause
The Extreme Management Center Archive CommandScript is unable to properly detect the present of a command prompt necessary to complete the backup script when the ERS switch is in MENU mode and requires CLI mode for archive support.

Additional notes
In software release 8.1.4.40 the BossTftp and BossSftp scripts were enhanced to issue a 'c' to drop to "Command Line Interface" if the CLI menu is enabled.
