Symptoms
  • ERS stack connected in SMLT to vIST pair of VSP 8600 switches
  • ERS stack reboots from power failure or upgrade:
    • VLACP on BU (base unit) MLT port to VSP 8600 #1 is up
    • VLACP on NBU (non-base unit) MLT port to VSP 8600 #2 is down
  • VLACP keeps port down on VSP 8600 #2 indefinitely
  • Issue is intermittent

Environment
  • VSP 8600 release 6.1.0.1
Cause
Software defect VOSS-11954
Resolution
Workaround:
  • Disable/Enable VLACP on the affected port of VSP 8600
  1. Type enable
  2. Type config term
  3. Type interface gigabit <PORT_#>
  4. Type no vlacp enable
  5. Type vlacp enable
Additional notes
VOSS-11954 is under investigation by design
