Symptoms
  • Open CLI Terminal does not automatically log in to an appliance.
  • CLI Terminal does not display shell prompt.
  • Unable to perform automatic CLI shell scripting to appliance.
Environment
  • Extreme Management Center (XMC)
  • Software Releases Prior to 8.1.5.22
  • ArubaOS 8 / v8
  • Hirschmann
  • ZyXEL
Cause
Third-party vendor shells may include additional banner information that is not properly handled by the CLIRules.xml scripting engine when attempting to detect the login prompt.
Resolution
The CLIRules scripting engine has been enhanced in software release 8.1.5.22 to handle devices that display banners with the login prompt.
