TitleWhen MLX is upgraded to 6.0.00gd, some OSPF routes are missing from the route table.
Symptoms
  • some OSPF routes missing from the route table
  • no route to loopback address of OSPF neighbor
  • OSPF neighbor relationship with next hop router is up
  • router LSAs from affected device for backbone area advertised as stub LSA link type instead of transit:
telnet@BB1#sh ip ospf database link-state router 6.6.6.6
Area ID         Type LS ID           Adv Rtr         Seq(Hex) Age  Cksum  SyncState
0               Rtr  6.6.6.6         6.6.6.6         80000157 2022 0x6d09 Done
  LSA Header:  options: --------E-, seq-nbr: 0x80000157, length: 72, flags:-----E-
  link id = 6.6.6.6, link data = 255.255.255.255, type = stub(3)
  tos count = 0, tos0_metric = 1
  link id = 170.0.0.0, link data = 255.255.255.0, type = stub(3)
  tos count = 0, tos0_metric = 1
  link id = 174.0.0.0, link data = 255.255.255.0, type = stub(3)
  tos count = 0, tos0_metric = 1
  link id = 173.0.0.0, link data = 255.255.255.0, type = stub(3)
  tos count = 0, tos0_metric = 1

telnet@BB1#
  • clear ip ospf neighbor <IP address> executed on affected device repopulates missing OSPF routes
Environment
  • MLXe
  • NetIron OS 6.0.00gd code
  • OSPF neighbor relationship
Cause
DEFECT000668878 (Router LSA links may stuck in STUB type with OSPF neighbors in FULL or LOADING state)
Resolution
Upgrade to 6.0.00ge code.
