Symptoms
  • Stack of (4) ERS 4950GTS-PWR+ switches running 7.6.1 release
  • Flash remapped on units in stack affected by Switch Logging NVR FSH Flash Errors
  • Stack downgraded to 7.5.1 release
  • Not all units can join stack
  • Unit 4 shows up as unit 3
  • VLACP not running on all ports making up MLT
  • Fabric Attach disappears
  • Flash errors written to system log on affected units
  • Units not remapped are not affected
Environment
ERS 4900
Release 7.6.1
Cause
  • Product functioning as designed
  • Stacks containing flash remapped units (or standalone units) cannot be downgraded below 7.6.1 release
  • Units that were remapped and subsequently downgraded will revert to their previous config areas resulting in flash write errors and related behavior
Resolution
Once a unit has flash remapped, it cannot be downgraded to earlier releases.
