Symptoms
Following errors observed in logs immediately after adding port to sharing group:
local6.err Kern.IPv4Mc: Unable to Add IPmc vlan 1000 for 1:10 s,G=c255bc01,c0000202 IPMC 617, unit 0 No resources for operation
local6.err Kern.IPv4Mc: Unable to Add IPmc vlan 2000 for 1:20 s,G=c255bc01,c0000202 IPMC 617, unit 0 No resources for operation
Environment
  • EXOS
  • MVR / Multicast
Cause
In some network designs where MVR intensely used there can be a situation when one of HW tables on ASIC is overfilled, which resulting in mentioned errors and issues with mcast forwarding.
