Symptoms
Switch partially may lose configuration after software upgrade on VOSS 7.x or 8.x releases if SSH cipher encryption algorithms are being used before upgrade.

  • VSP 7400
  • VSP 8200
  • VSP 8400
  • VSP 8600
Cause
SSH cipher encryption algorithms rijndael128-cbc and rijndael192-cbc are broken in VOSS 7.x or 8.x releases (for VSP 8600 broken since 6.1.3.0). This problem may cause partial loss of running configuration on switch reset after upgrade.
Resolution
Solution is provided in the following releases:
  • VOSS release 7.1.3 
  • VSP8600 release TSU-6.3.1.0
Additional notes
Workaround
On the first boot after software upgrade issue following commands shown below:
 
no ssh
ssh encryption-type rijndael128-cbc rijndael192-cbc
ssh
wri mem
reset
